Under Construction - Philippians 4:6-7

God with us - Week 33: Philippians 4:6-7

“I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”

Maya Angelou

I love this quote.

It's full of grace and space and growth and development and hope.

It's in the spirit of this quote that I'm doing something slightly different this week.

I started looking into Philippians 4:6-7 and thought, "hold on, I'm sure I've written about this before." Sure enough, I looked back through the archives, and two years ago, I wrote a series of blogs on these verses. So much has happened in the past two years, and I'll be interested to see how my perspective on these verses has changed, if at all. I've struggled with worry for a long time, but God has been at work, and hopefully, "I know better," and "I do better."

I'd like you to join me take some time to reflect on your worry habits. Each day I'll post the blog link, on social media, from the series I wrote two years ago. I'll read along with you and update this blog throughout the week, posting the link again on Saturday. It's essential to stop, reflect and think about how far we've come in our spiritual lives. I invite you to do the same as we explore these well-known verses.

If you're not on social media, then here are the links for the blogs to follow throughout the week.

Think about your experience over the past two years and consider these questions:

How did you handle worry in the past?

What do you know now that you didn't know then?

What aspects of Philippians 4:6-7 are still under construction in your spiritual journey?
