God with us - Week 4: Matthew 28:19-20
The words of this week's Scripture are found right at the end of the book of Matthew after he has taken us on a journey through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. When Jesus spoke these words, the disciples gathered together to meet Him after a challenging few days. Most of them were still in awe of the miracle of His resurrection; others were full of doubt, uncertain if they could believe their eyes. Jesus was standing before them, claiming His authority over the earth and heavens, and then He spoke these words:
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

These verses, known as the 'Great Commission,' give us clear instructions regarding our purpose as disciples of Jesus. There is so much to explore within two verses, but only one line stood out for me this week.
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (NLT)
I will be with you always, even until the end of the world. (CEV)
And I will be with you, day after day, to the end of the age. (VOICE)
I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age. (AMP)

Which word will you take into your week?
Look at the explanation after the word 'always' in the Amplified translation. What does it make you feel that God remains with you perpetually, regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion?
What does that look like for you today?
Keep coming back to this blog throughout the week and give yourself time to consider these words carefully. Take time out to sit with the promise that God is with us now, always, and to the end of the age.
