"Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect."
Hebrews 12:2
Where do you approach Christmas from?
Prepping for a birthday party, aspirations of perfection, cramming 48hrs into 24 to get all the ‘essentials’ done. Exhausted and run ragged by the whole ‘busy-ness’ that is wrapped around it, like a gift in itself? Those things that ‘tradition’ expects...or quiet anticipation and excitement, a precious time to reflect on God’s amazing gift, a time to be reminded again where the greatest story ever told began.
‘True love was born in a stable’
Luke 2:11
Has our 21st-century busyness blurred our vision?
If we can’t really see the point of the focus, then, do we look for something nearer, easier, less important…..??
I wonder, what is your ‘festive focus’?
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
